Govt urges people to report black marketing at toll free number 1149



KATHMANDU: The government has urged people to call toll free number 1149 to report about black marketing and artificial shortage of essentials.

The government aims to ensure smooth supply of essentials in view of the lockdown imposed since March 24 over coronavirus crisis.

“People are requested to immediately report about black marketing and artificial shortage of essentials,” read a statement issued by the Home Ministry.

A meeting held on Thursday under the chairpersonship of Home Secretary Maheshwor Neupane issued a six-point decision asking the government for all sellers within the Kathmandu Valley to ensure supply of daily essentials.

In this regard, the respective district administrations will provide vehicle pass. The police will manage security to operate shops, take demand and distribute essentials.

All sellers have been asked to provide their contact in this regard. Kathmandu Metropolitan City and respective sub metropolitan cities and municipalities will make arrangements for respective wards to facilitate the smooth supply of essentials.

In case of outside the Kathmandu Valley, respective district administrations and local levels will assist sellers out of the Valley to ensure regular supply of essentials.
