Snowfall in highland settlements hits dev projects

MYAGDI: The normal life has been affected due to snowfall in highland settlements of the district.

This is the seventh time Myagdi district has received snowfall this winter.

The snowfall has occurred in Gurja, Lulang, Todke, Jhankripanti of Dhawalagiri rural municipality, Ruise, Bhagawati, Kuinemangale of Raghuganga rural municipality and Ghodepani, Chitre, Tikot, Ramche of Annapurna rural municipality.

Gurja has received one-foot high snowfall, Ashok Chhantyal, a teacher of Janakalyan Secondary School, said. The mercury has dipped following the snowfall that occurred without melting the previous snowfall. Earlier, Gurja had received snowfall on February 21.

The snowfall has affected the development project works, said ward chairman of Gurja, Jhak Bahadur Chhantyal.
