ASSAM: Five powerful grenade explosions rocked Assam today as India celebrated Republic Day, police said.

According to Indian media reports, three explosions took place in Assam’s Dibrugarh district while one in Charaideo district.

Police rushed to the spot and collected the splinter, reports said.

According to the locals, bike-borne suspected militants had fled the scene after lobbing a grenade.

Likewise, another explosion rocked Duliajan in Dibrugarh. Details are still awaited.

A blast was also reported in the Tinsukia district. (Agencies)
