500 new cases reported, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally hits 257,700

KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 500 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the coronavirus tally reached 257,700 in the country as of Saturday afternoon.

Likewise, the Ministry shared that now the country has 6,749 reported active cases of the virus.

In the past 24 hours, altogether 840 infected people got recovery from the virus infection. So far, 249,132 people recovered from the coronavirus infection in the country.

Similarly, three persons succumbed to the virus across the country in the past 24 hours, hitting the total COVID-19 related deaths to 1,819.

Meanwhile, a total of 295 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and ventilator support.

A total of 228 patients are in ICU and 50 on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry of Health, 13 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, five in Province 2, 81 in Bagmati Province, 72 in Gandaki Province, 44 in Lumbini Province, 10 in Karnali Province, and three in Sudurpaschim Province.

A total of six in Province 1, three in Province 2, 29 in Bagmati, eight in Gandaki Province, two in Lumbini, one in Karnali, and one in Sudurpaschim Province are on ventilator support.
