Senior volleyball coach Rimal passes away



KATHMANDU: Senior volleyball coach and director of Sports Science Academy under the National Sports Council (NSC) Sudesh Kumar Rimal has passed away.

Neuro disease-ridden Rimal, 56, breathed his last in the course of treatment at Bansbari-based Neuro Hospital on Friday.

Preparations were underway to conduct head surgery on him. Rimal had earned fame as a good volley coach. He had served as a coach in the National Volleyball team, Nepal Police Club, Nepal Army Club and Armed Police Force Club.

Rimal had been working as the director of Sports Science Academy under the NSC until recently.

He was a national volley ball player, playing his debut match for the national team in the Seoul Asian Games held in South Korea in 1986.
