1,741 fresh cases take Nepal’s COVID-19 tally to 159,830

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 159,830 as of Monday after 1,741 persons tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 5,006 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

A total of 4,005 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 115,675 in the country.

Nepal currently has 43, 293 active cases.

Likewise, 2,969 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

Meanwhile, 15 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 862, the Ministry confirmed.

A total of 285 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 84 have been put on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry of Health, 28 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, 10 in Province 2, 182 in Bagmati Province, 13 in Gandaki Province, 43 in Lumbini Province, four in Karnali Province, and five in Sudurpaschim Province.

A total of 10 in Province 1, two in Province 2, 43 in Bagmati, one in Gandaki Province, and eight in Lumbini Province are on the ventilator support.
