COVID-19: Province 1 witnesses 106 new cases, 119 discharged

BIRATNAGAR: A total of 106 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Province-1 in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, there are 72 fresh cases in Morang, 24 in Sunsari, seven in Jhapa, one in Bhojpur and two outside the province.

According to the ministry, 64 people were infected in Biratnagar on Saturday. Among those confirmed infected are 26 women and 38 men.

The ministry added that two men in Budhiganga of Morang, one woman and one man in Katahari, one woman and one man in Gramthan and one man each in Sunvarshi and Jahda have reported positive.

Similarly, three women, eight men in Dharan, four women and six men in Itahari, one woman each in Gadhi and Barju, one man in Duhavi, one woman and two men in Birtamode of Jhapa, one woman, one man in Bhadrapur, one man each in Kachankawal and Kankai have tested positive for the pandemic virus.

According to the Ministry, one woman in Bhojpur and a man and a woman from another province have been infected.

With the new cases, the coronavirus tally in the province has reached 6,255.

Meanwhile, 119 got discharged on Saturday. So far, 2,788 people have won their battle against the pandemic in the province.
