Sudurpaschim University begins online exam

SURKHET: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sudurpaschim University began online examination here yesterday.

At a time when the educational activities have come to a complete halt across the country in the wake of the coronavirus menace, the Sudurpaschim University launched the exam with much effort.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Ammaraj Joshi informed that the third and first semester exams for the civil engineering and agriculture subjects were held for the first round on Friday.

“The professors, students and employees were provided orientation before conducting the exam,” he added.”

A total of 183 students appeared the example on the first day. The exam was conducted from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Joshi said, “It was quite challenging to conduct the online exam. However, the technical human resources were mobilized much for it. As many students were out of internet access, coordination was set up with 88 local levels in the State to ensure internet facility to the examinees.”

Similarly, Controller of Examination Dev Singh Nath seconded the Vice-Chancellor that it was challenging to conduct online exams from the viewpoints of technology and other aspects.

He, however, said, “Although the old and resourceful universities were not able to conduct online exam, we managed it which is a matter of pride.”

Sudurpaschim University will now move ahead by embracing technology, according to him.
