Govt to bear cost of asymptomatic COVID-19 infected ones for 14 days in hospital

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed all COVID-19 hospitals not to keep patients with asymptomatic and normal symptoms for more than 14 days.

The Health Emergency Operations Center under the Ministry has issued a circular to all COVID-19 Hospitals to discharge the asymptomatic and normal patients with PCR test in 10 days.

The ministry has stated that the government will not bear the cost of keeping the infected ones in the hospital for more than that period.

So far, the entire cost of the coronavirus infection has been borne by the government.

The government has already said that there is a shortage of beds in hospitals due to the increase in the number of infected people and has asked the asymptomatic and normally infected people to stay in home isolation as far as possible.
