Police resort to firing to nab drug peddlers

RUKUM:  Police have arrested two drug peddlers from Rukum West.

Acting on a tip-off, a team deployed from District Police Office, Rukum East took them under control from Musikot municipality-4, Tharadhunga.

According to Police Inspector Dinesh Gurung, police had to open fire on them after they started fleeing as soon as the security personnel approached them.

One of them has sustained injuries in the police firing.

The injured is 25-year-old Nirmal Pun of Musikot Bhalakcha-11.

He has sustained a bullet injury to his thigh and has been referred to Nepalgunj for treatment.

The other arrested is 35-year-old Laxmi Pun of Musikot-11.
