COVID-19 cases jump to 18 in Tehrathum with 8 new cases



TEHRATHUM: Eight more people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in Tehrathum district on Wednesday.

Earlier, nine people had tested positive for the coronavirus. The new cases were detected through contact tracing, said District Health Office, Tehrathum.

The newly infected people are businessmen and local people from district headquarters Myanglung, informed Yoga Raj Ghimire, the Chief of District Health Office Tehrathum.

The new cases were confirmed during tests at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences on Tuesday evening.

Swab samples of as many as 74 people had been collected after a 31-year-old man was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 15. The reports of nine people out of 74 came out positive.

With this, the number of coronavirus cases has reached 18 in Tehrathum district, said Ghimire.
