COVID-19 cases jump to 1,945 in Gandaki Pradesh with nine new cases



KATHMANDU: The number of coronavirus cases has reached 1,945 in Gandaki Province after nine new cases were reported on Wednesday morning.

According to a press note issued by the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Pradesh, nine new cases including three Nepal Army personnel were diagnosed with the coronavirus this morning.

Similarly, two people from Nawalparasi East were infected with the virus. They had recently returned from India.

The other infected were detected through contact tracing, according to Dr Binod Bindu Sharma, the spokesperson for the COViD-19 Control and Prevention Program of Gandaki Pradesh.

Preparations are underway to take the infected to the isolation wards of their respective districts.

As many as 1,643 people have recovered from COVID-19 and seven have died from the virus in Gandaki Pradesh.
