Woman’s swab sent to Teku for lab test after death



KATHMADNU: Swab of a woman, who died this morning, has been sent to the Teku-based Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital for coronavirus test.

Her swab was sent to the lab on the suspicion of COVID-19. Ritu Rai, 20 of Kanchanpur district had arrived at Shankhu about 30 days ago, said Municipality Health program coordinator Bishnu Chapagain.

She was kept at local quarantine for 10 days and then she was sent to her relative’s house after she tested negative via the RDT method.

It is learnt that she was also suffering from Tuberculosis as well. She was admitted to the Shankhu-based Shushma Koirala Memorial Hospital after her health condition deteriorated. According to Chapagain, she died this morning in the course of treatment at the same hospital.
