Chief Ministers greet on Eid al-Fitr

KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Bagmati State, Dormani Poudel and Chief Minister of Gandaki State, Prithvi Subba Gurung, Chief of State-5 Dharmanath Yadav and Chief Minister Shankar Pokhrel have extended their hearty best wishes to the entire Nepali Muslim community on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr festival.

In separate messages of best wishes, the Chief Ministers expressed their confidence that the festival would help foster national unity.

Chief Ministers wished that may this festival help consolidate the equal respect to all faiths and the religious goodwill in the country like in the past.

Chief Ministers stated in his message on the occasion that the constitution of the democratic republic Nepal has paved the way for the uplift and development of the minority Muslim community and every community, class and caste would be able to exercise their rights bestowed by the constitution in practical terms with its implementation.

They also said that all the three tiers of government have moved ahead with clear action plan and have established coordination and collaboration for saving lives from coronavirus pandemic.

The Chief Ministesr stressed on the cooperation of all citizens in these efforts made at minimising the risk. In this context,  Chief Ministers urged the Muslim community to observe the Eid al-Fitr by maintaining social distancing and safety protocols.

Chief Ministers also wished that may this Eid festival inspire all to building a peaceful, prosperous and developed Nepal by fostering brotherhood, love and unity among all Nepalis following different faith and cultures. They also wished that this festival give added inspiration to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
