COVID-19 cases climb to 675 in Nepal with 72 news cases

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that 72 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Nepal on Monday morning taking the tally to 675.

In a statement, Joint Spokesperson Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari said that new cases have been confirmed in Dhanusha, Kapilvastu, Rautahat, Bara, Kathmandu, Saptari, Banke, Bardia, Bara and Dailekh districts.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, three men each from Nagarain municipality-3, Dhanusha, Shivaraj Municipality, Kapilvastu and  Kathmandu (Tokha municipality and Budhanilkantha municipality) have been infected with the COVID-19.

Similarly, those infected are  two from  Bara, 26 from Rajpur Pharhadwa and Ishnath rural municipalities of Rautahat ,two from Dakneshwari rural municipality of Saptari, one from Basgadhi-9,  Bardia, four from Bank , 21 from  Bara, seven including a woman from Dailekh have tested positive for Coronavirus.

Among thsose infected with the novel virus are 71 men and one woman.

The new cases were confirmed after their specimen reports came out  to be positive at National Public Health Laboratory, Kathmandu, BP Institue of Health Sciences , Dharan, Rapti  Academy of Health Sciences, Vector Borne Disease Research and Training Center, Hetauda, Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj and Provicial Hospital, Surkhet.

Currently, 570 people are undergong treament at various hospital in the country, of which,105 peope have recovered after treament.
