House meeting postponed for lack of quorum

KATHMANDU: Tuesday’s meeting of the Legislature-Parliament has been postponed due to lack of quorum.

Speaker Agni Sapkota directed the employees of the Parliament-Secretariat to count the number of parliamentarians after Lawmaker Akhtar Kalam Musalman raised questions over quorum in the meeting.

The meeting was postponed after only 59 members were present in the meeting. At least 69 members are necessary to table any proposal in the meeting.

The next meeting has been slated for 1 pm on Wednesday.
