NC’s sarcasm: PM Oli’s birthday bash surpassed former monarchs

KATHMANDU: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has sniffed sarcasm over Prime Minister K P Oli’s profligate birthday celebration saying that the merriment reminded the former monarch’s attitude.

NC lawmakers Gagan Thapa and Dr Minendra Rijal came down heavily on the government and the Prime Minister for being a part of the birthday bash.

Speaking in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Tuesday, lawmaker Thapa queried PM Oli whether he was aware of the people’s analyses on the celebration and the alleged involvement of former Minister for Communications Gokul Baskota’s in the ‘negotiation’ of commission.

Lawmakers Dr. Rijal and Thapa asked PM Oli whether he has forgotten his commitment of not sparing a single corrupt individual.

They also raised the issue of Yeti Holdings lambasting PM Oli of bowing down to a single business organization by surrendering the property of Nepal Trust.
