PM Oli calls Cabinet meeting at 6 pm

Cabinet expansion likely



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has called a meeting of the Cabinet at 6 pm on Friday, Baluwatar sources said.

Friday’s meeting is the first Cabinet meeting after the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Meanwhile, seven ministers have already resigned protesting the dissolution of the HoR.

Earlier on Sunday, an emergency meeting of the Cabinet had recommended to dissolution of the HoR to President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli is likely to reshuffle his Cabinet on Friday evening, according to sources.

Prime Minister Oli is likely to appoint new ministers in the eight ministries.

There are currently 18 ministers and ministers of state in the 25-member cabinet after seven ministers resigned.

Ministers, including Ghanshyam Bhusal, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, Yogesh Bhattarai, Barshaman Pun, Shakti Basnet, Rameshwar Rai Yadav and Bina Magar had resigned protesting the PM’s move to dissolve the HoR.
