Prachanda-Nepal faction take to streets against HoR dissolution



KATHMANDU: The disgruntled Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has started staging demonstrations against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The leaders and cadres of the agitating faction have gathered at Maitighar Mandala and are shouting slogans demanding the reinstatement of the parliament as per the pre-scheduled programs.

Chairpersons of the Prachanda-Nepal group Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal, Narayan Kaji Shrestha among others are present in the demonstration.

The leaders have pasted pamphlets that read: “We Are Here” as a gesture of strength and their presence in the streets.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has a program to visit the Office of the Election Commission and Supreme Court today to claim the legitimacy of the party.

Party sources said that more than 300 central members of the Prachanda-Nepal faction, including 114 lawmakers, gathered at Maitighar Mandala and would go to the Election Commission together.
