Cold grips Valley as mercury dips to 2.5 degree



KATHMANDU:  The normal life has been affected after the temperature went down to 2.5 degree Celsius in the Kathmandu Valley.

According to Raju Pradhananga, a meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), the temperature plummeted on Friday morning since the sky was clear on Thursday night.

The temperature in the capital was recorded at 2.5 degree Celsius this morning. It was 4.5 degree yesterday morning. The temperature is likely to rise up to 19 degree Celsius during the day today, according to a weather bulletin issued by the Division.

Meanwhile, the Karnali River has frozen in Hilsa region in Namkha rural municipality in Humla district due to biting cold. The temperature has been recorded at minus 15 degree Celsius in Humla.
