Lambhodhar Neupane nabbed in misappropriation case worth 260 million rupees



KATHMANDU: Former Chairman of Nepal Engineering College (NEC) Lambhodhar Neupane has been nabbed in  allegation of fraud worth millions of rupees.

Central Intelligence Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested former chairman of Changunarayan-based NEC from Chandol in Kathmandu.

Neupane, who is also alleged of misappropriation of the public land provided to NEC, is sued in corruption allegation related with then Commissioner of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Raj Narayan Pathak.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Sahakul Thapa confirmed the news of Neupane’s arrest in Kathmandu.

The audit report of NEC shows more than Rs 231 million as the amount to be claimed from Neupane for the damage caused by him.

The investigation has found Neupane  solely accountable for the fraud worth more than 37.1 million rupees.

He is also facing a case in the Money Laundering Department.
