RBB provides grant amount to energy-efficient and energy saving companies

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) has provided subsidy amount to various companies for contributing to saving energy. The Bank provided the grant assistance under the Energy Efficiency Program run with the grant support from the German Government.

The Premier Organics Pvt Ltd received a grant of Rs 5 million 351 thousand 584, the Hulas Steel Industries got grant of Rs 3 million 315 thousand and the Premier Steels bagged grant assistance of one million 708 thousand 456 rupees.

RBB Chief Executive Officer Kiran Kumar Shrestha handed over the amount to the companies amidst a program on Tuesday.

Under this program, 15 to 39 per cent of the grant amount made available by the German Government is provided through RBB to the large, small and medium scale industries and firms of Nepal while installing energy-efficient and energy saving machinery and equipment.

RBB has implemented this program as per the agreement reached in 2010 between the Government of Nepal and the German Government for efficient energy use and energy saving in the industrial and business sector in Nepal.
