Five more die of COVID-19, Nepal’s death toll hits 847

KATHMANDU: A total of five people died of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the coronavirus death toll has reached 847 as of Sunday afternoon with the new deaths.

Meanwhile, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 158,089 as of Sunday afternoon after 2,856 persons tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 12,311 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

A total of 3, 336 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 108, 334 in the country.

Nepal currently has 45,572 active cases.

Likewise, 3,064 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

Meanwhile, five people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 847, the Ministry confirmed.
