NC not to hold tea reception on Kojagrat Purnima



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has canceled tea reception program due to the coronavirus pandemic this year.

NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said, “Due to the COVID-19, the NC is not going to organize a tea party this year.”

The NC had been holding a tea party ever year since 2034 BS to increase mutual harmony and reconciliation between the parties.

In 2033 BS, the founder leader and former president of the NC, BP Koirala had returned home from India with a policy of reconciliation.

Koirala had started the tea party on the day of Kojagrat Purnima in 2034 BS. Since then, the NC has been organizing tea party every year on the day of Kojagrat Purnima.
