In a press statement, the Embassy stated that efforts are ongoing to repatriate Nepalis as per the migrant workers’ wishes in the face of a pandemic outbreak.

Earlier, the negative result of PCR tests of all crew members and returnees within 72 hours was confirmed.
Nepal’s Ambassador in Muscat, Sharmila Parajuli Dhakal, bade farewell to Nepali migrant workers upon their return to home and wished them a safe journey. The Ambassador also extended best wishes for their happy life in the coming days.

Various employees of the Embassy, including Second Secretary Somesh Thapa, Labour Attaché Dinesh Dhakal, Nepali Social Club members, representatives of Nepali Organisations in Oman, and members of Muscat COVID-19 Management Volunteer were present to facilitate the journey of the returnees.

With this flight, the Embassy has become successful in repatriating 1,178 Nepalis who were stranded due to COVID-19 as well as in lack of regular flights, according to the Embassy.

“There will be regular flights between Oman and Nepal from October as international flights are going to be resumed in Oman from October 1 and one can easily go to Nepal after fulfilling health-related protocol,” reads the press release.
