Two COVID-19 patients die at BPKIHS in Dharan



DHARAN: Two coronavirus infected men have died at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS).

According to the COVID-19 Hospital at the institute, a 70-year-old man from Saptari and a 55-year-old man from Morang succumbed to the coronavirus on Thursday.

The man from Rajbiraj Municipality-3 was referred to the hospital from Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital after symptoms of fever, cough, respiratory problems and pneumonia.

He was diagnosed coronavirus positive on September 10 and was admitted to the institute three days later. The septuagenarian man breathed his last at 11 pm, according to BPKIHS Spokesperson Dr. Dinesh Sapkota.

Similarly, the man from Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-1 of Morang district died at 8 pm.

The infected were referred from the institute’s surgical ward after diagnosed positive for the pandemic virus. Sapkota said that he had bowel cancer and had undergone a complicated surgery.

A total of 33 people have died of the coronavirus at the institute with fresh two deaths.
