Extension of prohibitory order in Valley by one week recommended



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the District-level COVID Crisis Management Center (CCMC) has recommended extending the prohibitory order in the Kathmandu Valley by one week.

A meeting held at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu on Tuesday made the recommendation, said Tulsiram Poudel, Information Officer, District Administration Office, Kathmandu.

He said that a formal decision on the recommendation is yet to be made, adding that a meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts is being held to take a necessary decision on the recommendation.

A week-long prohibitory order was announced in Kathmandu Valley starting Wednesday midnight to stem the spread of coronavirus cases.

Meanwhile, as many as 232 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at the regular press briefing, Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson at Ministry of Health and Population informed that 199 persons in Kathmandu, 19 in Lalitpur and 14 in Bhaktapur have tested positive for COVID-19.
