855 new cases of COVID-19 registered across Nepal

KATHMANDU: A total of 855 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country on Tuesday.

In a regular press briefing, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Jageshwor Gautam, shared that these cases were identified while conducting PCR test on 11,327 persons at different laboratories across the country.

One person from Udayapur, one from Okhaldhunga, one from Khotang, five from Jhapa, 43 from Morang, 16 from Sunsari and two from Solukhumbu have been confirmed to have coronavirus infection.

Similarly, the infection has been confirmed in 42 people of Dhanusha, 4 people of Parsa, 17 people of Bara, 17 people of Mahottari, 44 people of Rautahat, 3 people of Saptari, 58 people of Sarlahi and 3 people of Siraha.

A total of 199 people from Kathmandu, 5 people from Kavre, 37 people from Chitwan, 3 people from Dolakha, 8 people from Dhading, 1 person from Nuwakot, 14 people from Bhaktapur, 2 people from Makwanpur, 1 person from Ramechhap, 19 people from Lalitpur and 2 people from Sindhupalchowk have been diagnosed coronavirus positive.

Similarly, 13 people from Kaski, two from Gorkha, six from Tanahun, four from Nawalparasi East, two from Parbat, one from Lamjung and one from Baglung have been confirmed to have the coronavirus.

According to Dr. Gautam, one person from Arghakhanchi, 23 from Kapilvastu, two from Gulmi, 18 from Dang, eight from Nawalparasi, four from Palpa, four from Pyuthan, six from Bardiya, 15 from Banke, 69 from Rupandehi and three from Rolpa have been infected.

Similarly, five people from Kalikot, one from Jumla, four from Dailekh, one from Mugu, four from Salyan and five from Surkhet have been confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus.

Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 19 people of Achham, 12 people of Kanchanpur, 16 people of Kailali and 2 people of Dadeldhura, 45 people of Doti, 9 people of Bajhang and 2 people of Baitadi.

Of them, 271 are female while 584 are male. With this, the national tally of COVID-19 jumps to 33,533 today.

Meanwhile, 313 have returned home after complete health recovery today. It is shared that a total of 19,119 people have returned home so after getting recovery till today.

Dr. Gautam said that there are 14,250 are active cases with 8,581 in different isolation centers and 5,669 are in home isolation across the country.

The death toll reached 164 with confirmation of seven new deaths.
