NCP senior leader Nepal “displeased” with task force report

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NC) Madhav Kumar Nepal has expressed disappointment over the report of the task force submitted to party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister KP Oli.

The six-member task force was formed to resolve the party’s internal dispute.

Senior leader Nepal expressed the displeasure saying that the suggestions of the task force have focused on two chairmen rather than the party as a whole.

A party leader close to senior leader Nepal said that the content of the task force’s report was “unexpected” and that it would not be acceptable saying that the suggestions have not focused on the party statute.

“The report should have focused about party’s system, which unfortunately did not happen,” the leader quoted senior leader Nepal as saying.

It may be noted that the task force led by NCP General Secretary Bishnu Paudel included leaders, including Shankar Pokharel, Bhim Rawal, Janardan Sharma, Surendra Pandey and Pampha Bhusal.

NCP Chairman Dahal and PM Oli had on Tuesday decided to call the meeting of the Secretariat on Saturday to discuss the report submitted by the party’s task force.
