Sherpa Association, UK Chairman succumbs to COVID-19



LONDON: Chairman of Sherpa Association, UK Sana Sherpa has died from coronavirus.

Originally from Bhojpur, an eastern district of Nepal, 51-year-old Sherpa breathed his last in the course of treatment at St Thomas’ Hospital in central London on Monday afternoon.

On July 13, Sherpa had been admitted to William Harvey Hospital based in Kent after he showed symptoms similar to the COVID-19, according to Bachaspati Regmi, Chairman of Palpa Society, UK.

He had been referred to St Thomas’ Hospital as his condition did not improve even after two weeks.

Former British Gurkha army Sherpa is survived by his wife and three sons.
