KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister KP Oli are meeting today to discuss the report submitted by the party’s task force.

The meeting earlier scheduled for Monday was postponed citing busy schedule of the Prime Minister.

A party source said that PM Oli and Dahal are meeting on Tuesday at the Prime Minister;s official residence, Baluwatar.

They are also likely to fix the date for convening a meeting of the party Secretariat after discussing the report.

It may be noted that the six-member task force led by NCP General Secretary Bishnu Poudel had last week submitted a report to Dahal and Oli.

The task force has suggested the party leadership to hold a meeting of the Standing Committee meeting as soon as possible.

Likewise, the task force has also suggested them to call the party’s central committee to thrash out the existing differences.

The task force has suggested the party leadership that while Dahal looked after the party affairs, Oli would lead the government, among others.

The task force has even suggested the leadership on cabinet reshuffle, replacing some Chief Ministers, and holding a general convention from April 7 to 12 next year to resolve ideological issues.

The task force has also suggested that the issue of PM Oli’s resignation will not be on the agenda of the Standing Committee meeting, which has been postponed from July 2.

The members in the task force including NCP leaders Bhim Rawal, Shankar Pokharel, Janardan Sharma, Surendra Pandey and Pampha Bhusal.
