Patient dies in ambulance after hospital denies admission



BIRATNAGAR: A patient with respiratory complications has died in an ambulance for lack of treatment in Biratnagar.

Padam Rai, 23, of Udayapur who was suffering from respiratory complications has died after the hospital denied admitting him.

Rai was rushed to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar from Katari in the ambulance, Sa 1 Cha 1205, for treatment on Friday.

The hospital denied to admit him over his respiratory issues, said ambulance driver Subas Tamang.

The family members, then, took him to Koshi Hospital after being denied by Nobel Hospital. Koshi Hospital also did not admit him.

The ailing patient succumbed to respiratory complications for lack of treatment while waiting outside the emergency ward of the hospital.

The deceased’s swab has been collected and its report is yet to come out.
