Youth who committed suicide in Dailekh tests COVID-19 positive



KATHMANDU: A youth from Dailekh who had committed suicide in his own house two days ago has tested positive for coronavirus.

A 21-year-old man from Dullu Municipality-10 who had committed suicide has tested positive, Karnali Province Ministry of Social Development said in a press statement on Thursday.

The body of the youth was found hanging at home on Tuesday and was taken to Dullu Hospital for postmortem. His swab sample was sent for tests after doctors at the hospital had refused to perform an autopsy without the COVID-19 report.

The youth who came to Dailekh from India had stayed in quarantine for 14 days at Panchkoshi Secondary School.

A total of 211 people who were in quarantine including the youth were sent home after their RDT test report came negative.
