KATHMANDU: A total of 434 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Nepal in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Spokesperson at the Ministry Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that among the newly-infected are 386 males and 48 females.

With the news cases, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 11,162 including 10,020 males and 1,142 females.

According to Dr. Gautam, a test conducted at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences has confirmed corona infection in a man from Jhapa and a man from Sunsari.

Similarly, eight men from Saptari, two women and two men from Sunsari and one man from Morang have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection at Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar.

A test conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Janakpur, confirmed infection in nine men from Dhanusha, five men from Mahottari, one woman and one man from Siraha

Similarly, four women and nine men from Achham, one man from Baitadi, three women and 13 men from Bajhang, two women and two men from Bajura, one woman and 11 men from Dadeldhura, two men from Kailali, 11 women and 48 men from Kanchanpur, 38 men in Rautahat and five men in Sarlahi were confirmed to be infected at tests carried out at National Public Health Laboratory.

Similarly, seven women and 86 men from Palpa were tested positive in the laboratory of Bharatpur Hospital and one man from Bara was confirmed to be infected in tests in Hetauda.

A man from Dolpa, two women and two men from Kathmandu, a man from Lalitpur and a man from Sunsari have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection in a laboratory test conducted at Patan Hospital, Lalitpur.

Likewise, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in one woman and three men of Bhaktapur in a laboratory test conducted at the TU Teaching Hospital.

A woman and four men from Nawalparasi, two women and seven men from Tanahun and two men from Baglung, a woman and five men from Myagdi and a man from Syangja were diagnosed with infection at the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences.

Similarly, tests conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Rupandehi, confirmed coronavirus infection in three men from Nawalparasi, two women and five men from Pyuthan, 28 men from Palpa and four women and three men from Rupandehi.

A man from Rukum East, a woman and five men from Bardiya, a man from Baitadi, two men from Baitadi, two men from Bajhang, one man from Banke, one woman from Dailekh and one man from Darchula were tested positive in the laboratory of Bheri Hospital.

Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in one man from Dhading, one man from Ilam, one man from Jumla, one man from Kailali, one woman and two men from Kalikot, one man from Kaski, one man from Lamjung, one man from Salyan and 13 men from Surkhet.

A man from Baitadi, four men from Bajura, three men from Banke, one woman from Dailekh, one man from Dang, one man from Dhading, two men from Gorkha, one man from Gulmi and one man from Ilam have been confirmed in the test conducted at Karnali Institute of Health Sciences.

Similarly, the infection has been confirmed in one man from Jumla, one man from Kanchanpur, one man from Khotang, one man from Lamjung, two men from Okhaldhunga, one man from Palpa, two men from Ramechhap and three men from Taplejung.

According to Spokesperson Dr. Gautam, the infection has been seen in 76 districts of the country so far. Coronavirus infection has been seen in all the districts of the country except Rasuwa.

Nepal has performed 199,737 sample tests through the PCR method so far.

A total of 6,543 sample tests have been performed through the PCR method and 4,167 samples test performed though the RDT method in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

Likewise, 312 persons were discharged from the hospital after being recovered from the pandemic virus in the past 24 hours. With this, the number of recovered people has reached 2,650.

Currently, 8,486 people are in isolation and 74,022 in quarantines across the country.
