Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 26



KATHMANDU: A man undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital in Lalitpur has succumbed to coronavirus. With this, the death toll from coronavirus in Nepal has reached 26.

A 50-year-old man who was being treated at the hospital died at around 7 am Thursday morning, according to Chief of District Health Office Lalitpur Dr. Khagendra Gelal.

Hailing from Chitwan, he had been living at Mahalakshmisthan in Lalitpur. He had undergone a kidney transplant five months ago and was undergoing treatment in isolation of the hospital after coronavirus infection was confirmed.

The man was admitted to Norvic Hospital due to health problems and was shifted to Patan Hospital six days ago after it was confirmed that he was positive for coronavirus.

The dead body has been managed, said Dr. Gelal.

“He had died at 7 am this morning, so we have managed the body at 10 am with the help of the Nepal Army,” Dr. Gelal told Khabarhub, “The dead body was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat”
