Death toll from Mexican quake rises to 10



MEXICO CITY: The death toll from an earthquake that struck Mexico has risen to 10 people, as locals began clearing the rubble.

The area surrounding the Huatulco beach resort in the southern state of Oaxaca was hit by a 7.4 magnitude quake on Tuesday.

The tremor could be felt as far away as Mexico City. Tall buildings swayed, thousands of people came out into the streets.

As many as 30 buildings in the capital were damaged, international media reports said.
