Province 5 to prioritize recovery of COVID-19 hit economy

BUTWAL: The Province 5 has unveiled its policy and programs for the upcoming fiscal year on Saturday with a series of programs mainly with a focus on the recovery of the economy that is affected by the coronavirus.

The programs include the reintegration of the job losers at home and abroad in the Province.

Those job losers would be provided with jobs in industry, agriculture and construction sectors through employment promotion schemes.

Dharmanath Yadav, the Chief of Province 5, presented the policy and programs of the Province in the Province Assembly and said that the Province government would focus on reducing the impacts of coronavirus on the economy.

The Province government has also unveiled a special package for the recovery of the economy for the upcoming fiscal year.

As stated, COVID-19 control, agriculture, employment promotion, poverty alleviation, income generation and construction of public properties would be kept in top priority.

Likewise, unproductive expenses would be reduced except for essential and budget would not be allocated for the establishment of new offices, agencies, academy and Province-owned enterprises.

Considering the possible inflow of migrant workers and a decrease in remittance from foreign countries, more new opportunities would be created in the Province for the increasing production.

Similarly, resource mobilization is in the priority to increase production and productivity of the agriculture and to increase employment as well as investment mobilization and promotion of small and cottage industries would be done through maximum use of domestic labor, skills and technology to make a self-reliant economy.
