Construction of Dana-Kusma transmission line in final phase

The construction of a transmission line from Dana of Myagdi to Kusma of Parbat under the Kaligandaki Corridor 220 kV transmission line is in the final phase.

According to the officials of the project, the construction is taking place with the aim of bringing the transmission line into operation by July.

The work under the project is being carried out even during the lockdown with security management in coordination with the local government and administration. Construction of a 220/132 kV substation at Khurkot is ongoing and equipment has been installed at the substation.

China provides security screening equipment

The Chinese government has handed over necessary equipment aiming to ease security screening process at Rasuwagadhi check point.

The equipment handed over to Nepal comprise one baggage scanner, one walk through gate and five metal detectors, said Rasuwa Chief District Officer Arjun Bhandari. Deputy Superintendent of Police at Armed Police Battalion-21, Timure, Laxman Thapa said the equipments aided by Chinese government would further boost capacity of security screening.

Province 2 procures two PCR machines for Janakpur, Rajbiraj

With the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the province, the Province 2 government has bought 2 new PCR machines for the test.

After the skepticism over the quality and reliability of the report of the PCR conducted via the machine installed in the Provincial Hospital Janakpur, the Province 2 government has procured two PCR machines to carry out the tests in Janakpurdham and Rajbiraj.

The Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Gyanendra Kumar Yadav confirmed that the province has procured two PCR machines citing the coronavirus spread in the 8 districts of Province 2 bordered with India.
