DHANUSHA: A youth has been arrested on the charging of attempting to rape a 22-year-old woman living in quarantine in Bideha Municipality-6 on Thursday night.
Cleaning worker Sanjeev Paswan, 28, had allegedly tried to rape the woman at around 11 pm last night, according to police.
However, Mayor of Bideha Municipality Bechan Das said that the youth has been falsely accused. He added that a woman living in the same room with the alleged victim said no such incident happened.
The youth was arrested after the alleged victim lodged a complaint with the police.
An investigation into the case was underway, DSP Rameshwor Karki at District Police Office, Dhanusha said.
