Tanahun local units set up isolation wards



TANAHUN: Isolation wards have been set up in different local levels of Tanahun district to fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.

Isolation wards in Vyas, Shukla Gandaki municipalities, Myagde and Bandipur rural municipalities are developed to carry out the treatment if any patient of COVID-19 were reported.

Officials said that 8-bed isolation wards in Vyas, 12-bed in Shukla Gandaki, 5-bed in Myagde, 8-bed in Bandipur and 5-bed in Devghat have been readied.

An eight-bed isolation ward has been developed with the joint initiative of the District Administration Office, Vyas Municipality and Damauli Hospital, said Mayor of Vyas Municipality, Baikuntha Neupane.

The beds required for isolation ward were provided by the private hospitals in Damauli.

Similarly, the isolation ward has been set up at Jamaune Health Post by Myagde to carry out the treatment of suspected coronavirus patients. The 5-bed isolation was set up as a preparatory measure against COVID-19, said
Chief of Health Section at Myagde Rural Municipality, Tilak Ghimire.

Likewise, Devghat Rural Municipality has also set up an isolation ward of five beds at Dharmath Hospital, Chief Administrative Officer Ramesh Subedi said.

Chief Administrative Officer Subedi said that the isolation ward was developed for the immediate treatment of the suspected coronavirus pneumonia patients. He shared that the rural municipality will bear the entire costs of the patients for their treatment in the isolation ward.

Similarly, Shuklagandaki Municipality has set up an isolation ward of eight beds at GP Koirala National Respiratory Treatment Centre while Bandipur Rural Municipality in Bandipur Hospital.

In Myagde Rural Municipality, quarantines are being made at school buildings while isolation of five wards is set up at Jamune Health Post.

Rural municipality’s chairperson Mayadevi Rana said that the rural municipality will bear the costs of the patients for their treatment in the isolation ward.

In its support to fight against the COVID-19, the Regional Hotel Association in Tanahun has announced to support to make quarantines for the hotel rooms.
