China hikes visa fee for Nepali nationals

KATHMANDU: China has increased the visa fee for Nepali citizens.

With this decision, a Nepali national will have to pay Rs 6,200 from the previous Rs 2,200 to receive a Chinese visa.

Earlier, China used to charge Rs 2,200, Rs 4,900 and Rs 6,200 on applications for the visa within four days, three days and two days, respectively.

Now that, China will charge Rs 3,900, Rs 5,050 and Rs 7,800 respectively.

According to the visa center in Kathmandu, the visa tariff has been revised considering the expenses on employees, equipment, and legal tax provisions in Nepal.

Likewise, China has increased the visa fees it had charges on the citizens of other nations as well.
