Death toll from COVID19 crosses 2,400 including 20 outside China

KATHMANDU: The death toll from the coronavirus which is also known as COVID19 has crossed 2,400 as of Monday morning.

According to CNN, the new virus has claimed 2,465 across the world. As many as 2,445 have died in China, the epicenter the coronavirus, while 20 people died outside the country.

Three people die in Italy

The virus has claimed three people in Italy despite measures taken by the country, with 152 people infected.

The government has imposed a lockdown on 12 cities in Lombardy and Veneto in the northern Italy after two died and 79 got infected with the COVID19.

One more Italian died and other 73 got infected with the virus following the lockdown.

Six dead and 9,000 quarantined in South Korea

Six people have died due to the virus in South Korea.BBC has reported that over 600 have been infected.

As many as 200 cases have been found in a single day in South Korea, becoming the country with the largest number of coronavirus cases after China.

As many as 9,000 people have been quarantined after coronavirus cases were found in a religious group in Cheongdo County.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has called on Korean citizens to take precaution after the new virus turned epidemic in the country.
