1.2 mln tourists visited Nepal in 2019

KATHMANDU: The Department of Immigration said (that) almost 1.2 million tourists came to visit Nepal in the year 2019.

According to the Department, a total of 1,197,191 tourists visited Nepal according to the record maintained by the Department.

The highest number of tourists came from India followed by northern neighbor China and America.

Of the total tourists, 995,000 came to Nepal by air while 213,000 by road. The number of tourists increased by two percent in 2019 compared to 2018.
