CIAA puts over half complaints on hold



KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) put more than half of the complaints in the last fiscal year 2019/20 on hold.

According to the commission’s 30th annual report, out of 16,952 complaints lodged in the last fiscal year, 9,387 have been kept under hold after preliminary investigation.

CIAA Acting Chief Commissioner Dr. Ganesh Raj Joshi submitted the report to President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Thursday.

During the same period, 25,152 complaints were registered with the Commission, out of which 8,558 complaints were transferred from the previous fiscal year.
