KATHMANDU: A Central Committee meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman KP Oli-led faction has revoked the executive power entrusted to another Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda by the decision of the Central Committee and the Standing Committee.

“Prachanda has not been removed from the post but he will not be able to carry out the responsibilities given to him by the Central Committee and the Standing Committee. It has been decided to revoke his executive powers,” said a central member of the party.

The Oli faction stated that action has been taken against Prachanda for not acting as per the party’s constitution and engaging in anti-party activities.

The meeting was mainly focused on how to hold the election on the scheduled date. It has also been decided that the agendas of the Central Committee meeting will be decided by the Standing Committee meeting.

Earlier, a Central Committee meeting of Prachanda-Madhav Kumar Nepal faction had sacked Oli of the party’s Chairmanship and appointed senior leader Nepal as Chairman.

The Oli faction has already registered the amended statute with the Election Commission on Thursday so that only the sign of only the first Chairman (Oli) will be authentic.

The factional meeting also appointed the party’s coordinators for all the seven provinces

According to the sources, Lekhraj Bhatt has been appointed coordinator for Sudurpaschim, Mani Thapa for Karnali, Shankar Pokharel for Lumbini, Prithvi Subba Gurung for Gandaki, Ishwor Pokharel for Bagmati, Satyanarayan Mandal for Province 2, and Subash Nembang as the coordinator of Province 1.

Similarly, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has been named as the coordinator of sister organizations, according to General Secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel.
