Prachanda-Nepal faction announces agitation against HoR dissolution

KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has announced agitation against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Prime Minister KP Oli had on Sunday dissolved the HoR.

A Central Committee meeting of the faction held on Thursday formed an agitation mobilization committee led by Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the party spokesperson.

The faction has also decided to form a Secretariat, a Standing Committee and a Central Committee soon.

Sources informed that Thursday’s meeting of the Central Committee decided to fill the vacancies in these committees.

Likewise, the faction led by Prime Minister and Chairman Oli has also held a meeting of the faction’s Central Committee on Thursday.

Both the factions – Oli and Prachanda-Nepal – of the ruling NCP have intensified meetings and appointments claiming the legitimacy of the party even though it is yet to split officially.

The Supreme Court will decide the fate of the factions of the ruling NCP and the dissolution of the House of Representatives on Friday.
