Pick-up van-hit kills pedestrian in Balkhu



KATHMANDU: A pedestrian has died after being struck by a pick-up van, Ba 21 Cha 5064, near petrol pump at Balkhu in Kathmandu.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Gyanu Adhikari of Devchuli municipality-14, Nawalparasi, said Metropolitan Traffic Police Division. The accident took place on Wednesday night.

Critically injured Adhikari, who was rushed to Bhalku-based Vayodha Hospital, breathed his last in the course of treatment, informed police.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking driver Raju Tamang and the van under control.
