KATHMANDU: South Korea has sent back home over 200 Nepali migrant workers after they lacked basic skills of Korean Language.
According to Nepal Police, Korea sent them back on the ground of having no required knowledge of Korean Language.
Korea has been sending those candidates who got through the Korean Language Test (KLT) by using fake examinees on their behalfs by providing them a huge amount of money.
Korea has sent back over 200 Nepali migrant workers since 2015, said Nepal Police.
According to SSP Deepak Thapa of Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Kathmandu a Nepali migrant worker who was sent back home has revealed that he got through the KLT by using a fake examinee. He had paid Rs 700,000 to him via a middleman.
SSP Thapa said the Korean language instructors themselves are found involved in such kinds of illegal activities.
It has come to the fore following the arrest of Uttam Man Limbu, the Korean Language instructor at Sensege Consultancy based at Bag Bazaar, Kathmandu.
Korean Language Instructors help examinees get through the KLT by taking Rs 700,000 each from them.
Korean Embassy has lodged a complaint at the Nepal Police headquarters, Naxal, after unqualified Nepali migrant workers often reached Korea.
It has warned that it would no longer recruit Nepali workers in the future if such cases repeat again, Nepal Police HQ said.
