KATHMANDU: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has nominated Nepal’s former Captain Paras Khadka in the competition for another feather in its Tuesday released list of associate player of the decade award.
In the list of nominees for the associate player of the decade award this time there are six players.
Along with Khadka, Kyle Coetzer (Scotland), Callum Macleod (Scotland), Richie Berrington (Scotland), Asad Vala (Papua New Guinea), Peter Borren (Netherlands) have been nominated for the award.
The ICC has also announced nominations for the Cricketer (female and male) of the decade, men’s test player of the decade, one-day cricketer (female and male), T20 cricketer (female and male) and the decade’s associate cricketer (female and male), among others.
The awards will be announced on December 17. Paras Khadka successfully led Nepal to attain one-day cricket membership. He took over from Binod Das in 2009 and resigned last year from the captaincy.
He continues to be part of the national team.
