Cabinet decides to bring ordinance for strict action against acid attackers



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to bring an ordinance with provisions of strict action against acid attackers.

A cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to bring an ordinance regarding acid attacks, said a Cabinet minister.

Earlier, Prime Minister KP Oli had instructed Law Minister and concerned bodies to draft a law to take action against acid attackers.

PM Oli had said that a new law will be enacted immediately through an ordinance to take action against the perpetrators of inhumane and heinous crimes as demanded by the acid victims.

The Prime Minister had said that arrangements will be made for the treatment of the offenders by confiscating their property and paying compensation, maintenance and assistance to the victims by rushing them to the hospital for treatment.
